Memories for Ileana

It has taken me all summer to activate my creative flow for this project. I just could not decide what was the proper and artistic project to commemorate Ileana's graduation from high school. Ileana is Dr. Patti Anderson's daughter, whom I just adore.

First I asked Patti to send me some pictures so I could digitally scrap them. Then I had to learn how to use the scanner to capture them at 300 dpi. Once that was done....Oh what to do....

I have used an 8x8 book from Oriental Trading. The pages came finished gloss white.

Then you have to decide what colors and what journaling you are going to use.

All digital layouts are done in Photoshop Elements. I used soft gloss paper to print on. I wish all of you could see this in real life.

Each page also has three deminsional elements to give an extra visual element.

The spine of the book has a white silk cord running down the middle with white and black tulle cut into strips tied onto the cord. I also used touches of white silk organza and red satin ribbon for that special touch.

Blowing Bubbles

I have the hang of the bubble gun now.

I like to just blow bubbles.

Poof, Poof now there are some great bubbles.

OOOOOOhh

Samantha loves the bubbles.

Let me have that bubble.
What bubbles!!!!

There is something funny in the air.

Jill came over to see the family. She is not blowing bubbles.

Drama Queen Celebrates her Birthday

Hey what is that thing on your head?

This is my hat and this is my cookie bouquet.
I heard that Festus ate my purse and sunglasses. I hope they go with your outfit.

Now that is a bouquet.
Just what are you looking at? Huh......

Yes this is so me..........
I am wearing this with every outfit.

Mosaic Bowling Ball for the Garden-Circus Ball Series

This is made from a bowling ball that I covered with tiles, mirrors and flat back marbles. I used mastic to glue all the items on and then used premixed grout to fill in the spaces. This will reside in my garden for the fairies to dance around. This is the first of my series of circus balls. Remember the large wooden balls that the elephants used in the Circus, this is my inspiration. I have two more balls to make and hope to make several more. Don't hold your breath because creatively works on its own time clock.

Festus Sits for a Portrait

Festus is sporting his new haircut compliments of me. Notice his bushy eyebrows. He loves to sit to have his picture made. I think it has something to do with getting a bone at the end of the session. This time I used a black background drape. His fur looks like it has a pink tint but don't tell him he thinks he is quite dapper.

Toilet Paper Roll Book

Always gather your tools. Exotic glasses are a must when one is creating. I have used three toilet paper rolls for this unusual book. Be sure to flatten them using a bone folder to get a sharp crease. On the left you can see the toilet paper rolls that I have covered with scrapbook paper. I like to use photo spray glue to adhere the paper to the roll. Use your hole punch and punch the holes on both sides. I had to do one side at a time and then mark the other side.
Inside the rolls you will be putting little tags that have pictures and other goodies. This book was a gift for a friend of mine for her birthday. It commemorated the Mother Goose Tea that was held in High Springs in May.

Each tag inside has a hole punched and then ribbons or yarn fibers tied in the hole.
Charms were added to the 1 1/2 inch black ring binders.
I think an artistic touch is to make sure embellishments overflow on the edges.

These tags highlight one of the charming young guests. Hope you have fun trying to make one of these.

Granddaughter's first birthday

This is the card I made for her.

This is her birthday hat. Is it just darling? I hear that Katelyn wants one for her birthday. I guess I better get busy and make her one also. Purple seems like a good color for her.
